Easy Knitting Patterns - Eyelash Yarn Scarf
76Eyelash Yarn Caught My Eye
I was browsing through the yarn at a craft store and picked up a skein of Lion Brand Fun Fur because it was so cute and fuzzy. On the wrapper it shows a picture of a cute furry scarf and the promise of a free pattern inside. I peaked under the label and the pattern called for only the knit stitch so i figured it was perfect to start my collection of easy knitting patterns. I purchased two skeins of this fun eyelash yarn and immediately started on the project!
Eyelash Yarn is Fun and Cute!
Eyelash Yarn Scarf Pattern
Size: 6.5" x 60"
Materials:
- 2 balls lion brand fun fur (any two colors)

With 1st color, cast on 22 stitches. Work in garter stitch until piece measures 30" or you run out of yarn, leaving a 4" tail. Attach 2nd color to the tail of the first color. Work in garter stitch until piece measures 60" or you have about 3 feet of yarn left. Bind off. Weave in all the loose ends.
Note: I modified the instructions a little bit to make them easier to understand. Some of the wording was weird, but overall it's a great beginner knitting project!

Easy Knitting Tips - Using Eyelash Yarn
Tip #1 - Cast on loosely or else your stitches will stick on the needles and be hard to slide up and down.
Tip #2 - Make SURE you are grabbing the actual yarn strand and not just some of the feathers as you knit. If you miss the yarn you will end up with holes in your knitting.
Tip #3 - Since it is difficult to see what you are doing when you knit with eyelash yarn, count the number of stitches on your needle every few rows. Increase or decrease as necessary to get back to the required amount.
Tip #4 - If you are using large needles, make sure to keep pulling the yarn strand tight in between the first few stitches of each row. Eyelash yarn knits up loosely and can get out of control of not kept tight.
Tip #5 - Knitting in the English method seems to be easier to manage than the Continental method when using eyelash yarn. So adjust your technique accordingly if you are having a difficult time.

I love eyelash yarn. I will have to try knitting the scarf!
Wow, I never knew that kind of yarn was called eyelash yarn! I love how you have given such easy knitting instructions to follow, even a beginner could learn from this Hub!
T_T i cant get the little furs to stop getting trapped by the stitches, help!
the instructions were very clear, but i just don't know how to do it. (newbie at this)
I love to use eyelash yarn, but usually will use a 2nd strand of a lightweight yarn in either Dk or sport. That way there is a good strength to the scarf, it is much warmer and you can see the color of the 2nd yarn so it makes a lovely contrast.
You can lose stitches easily with eyelash yarn, so for something that has many stitches per row, I put a marker every 10 stitches so it's easy to see if you've lost one somewhere.
Thanks for sharing us the steps. Gotta start doing this on my free time. :3
